Starlit Deeps of Moonless Nights
5 Years of Milky Way Photography
Long Exposure Panorama Photography under the Stars
2017 - 2022
What is it, that makes Summer so special? Since a list of answers would surely be infinite, I would suggest to break most possible points down to a main cause: the freedom of spending unlimited time outdoors. One is free to stay due to mostly bearable weather conditions. That freedom revealed to me quiet early while camping in a friends garden all summer long, when secret nocturnal excursions and forbidden adventures intensively slapped. The revelation of a world behind the ordinary boundaries of our young life.
20 years later I am still longing for the unknown adventures of a starlit summer night, curious for exciting places and natural dark. Exploring landscapes and the depth of my imagination at once, evoked by the details of the universe. How satisfying to slide into daybreak being exhausted and hungry after intense hours of photography, but intensively relaxed and happy. My private escape from the mundane, leaving a hand full of photos that caused this Photo Series. From Star Trail sessions for the hundredth birthday of a beautiful Football Stadium to long exposure panorama at one of the best and most impressive observatories of the planet, including Meteor Showers, a Super Blood Moon Eclipse, Comet Neowise and bad ass volcanoes - this series covers my highlights of five years Night Sky Photography. Enjoy!
